Shri Akhand Path Sahibs are held at the Gurudwara sahib on all major Gurpurabs as well as on special family occasions as desired by the members of the Sangat. All Gurpurabs and major Sikh historical events are celebrated at the Gurudwara Sahib as per dedicated norms and Maryada. Sadh Sangat Gurudwara Sahib has Kirtan and Gurbani Vichar few times a week on regular basis. Most of the Gurudwara functions are accomplished by the collective Sewa of the Sangat, individual members doing Sewa in various capacities on various projects. True to its name, Sadh Sangat of Georgia is an organization of the Sangat, by the Sangat and for the Sangat. It takes pride in creating an environment of openness, equality, humility, serenity and tranquility where the community can come together in peace and harmony to celebrate our heritage and promote Guru’s teachings. Sadh Sangat of Georgia has made a concerted effort in keeping hierarchical office bearers and politics out of its institutions and daily functions. Due to the collective efforts of the community and because of the passion, persistence and generosity of its dedicated volunteers, the seedling planted a short time ago has blossomed into a beautiful institution. Upon the urgings of a small group of devotees and community leaders, the Sadh Sangat of Gurudwara Sahib was established in August 2007. The idea for this organization first emerged in July 2007 during the inaugural ceremonies of the building (housing the current location of the Gurudwara Sahib) with Shri Akhand Path Sahib. Guru Ji made many vital contributions to Sikhism including building the city of Anandpur Sahib, saving the lives of Kashmiri Pandits, who were being persecuted by the Mughals. Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in New Delhi is built on the site where Lakhi Shah Vanjara, a disciple of Guru Ji, burnt his house in order to cremate Guru Sahib's body. He was tortured and executed by the orders of then Mughal emporer Aurangzeb at Chandini Chowk in old Delhi on November 11, 1675 which is now the site of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib is known as "Hind di Chaadar" meaning Shield of India, as he gave his life to protect Hinduism and the right to choose one's own religion.
